Absentee voting is comprised of two methods by which registered voters may cast ballots other than the traditional method of appearing in person and casting a ballot on the day of the election. These methods are absentee by mail and absentee one-stop.
Any voter registered in Mecklenburg County can request an absentee ballot from the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections prior to the last Tuesday before an election. Their are two options to make the request: option 1 is to visit the portal and request electronically and option two is to complete the ABSENTEE BALLOT REQUEST Form. This form is updated annually and is not yet available for 2023. Numerous outside organizations have sent forms to targeted individuals. As long as these forms are dated for the current year and are blank when received by the voter - the form can be completed and returned. The form can be mailed or hand delivered to our office.
If you are
Military, immediate family of Active Military, or a US citizen overseas, please visit
FVAP.gov to register and request your ballots.
You can no longer verify receipt and processing of your request online. Please request through the portal for verification and updates on your absentee.
